Former NBA players Malik Beasley and Edward Davis as well as sports agent Paolo Zamorano and three others were charged by federal prosecutors in an illegal sports-betting scheme.
Beasley agreed with his former teammate Davis to underperform or overperform in games, relative to betting statistics, the US said in an indictment unsealed Monday in Brooklyn, New York.

The case is the latest to emerge from a long-running probe into the sports industry that has already led to charges against NBA player Terry Rozier and Major League Baseball pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz.
Beasley’s lawyer, Stephen Haney, said he has seen the indictment and expected Beasley to surrender to federal authorities by Wednesday.
