I chatted with Sean Ashton from Private Clients by Old Mutual about valuations for US markets. On the surface they seem high, but he points out that margins are expanding and earnings growth has been around 26%, which is a significant increase not seen outside of post-recession years. So importantly, while stocks are running, earnings are giving decent support.

The new Companies Act has been signed into law, effective immediately, and I chatted with Leila Ebrahimi from PwC South Africa about the implications. There really are two important points.

Some of the key findings include that women are investing better than men, also more cautiously. Total income also has no real bearing on financial well-being and neither does age.
