RMB CEO Emrie Brown notes in a statement that Kobus has demonstrated a strong track record of leadership and execution during her career at the bank.

She joined RMB in 2008 through the bank’s Class Of Programme, its graduate development initiative for young professionals.

She moved to Infrastructure Sector Solutions in 2009 and later led the division for six years.

Her appointment continues a nearly two-decade career at RMB, where she has held several leadership positions across the corporate banking business.

Kobus holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town, an Honours degree in Commerce in Information Systems from the University of South Africa, and a Master of Commerce in Business Management from the University of Johannesburg, which she completed with distinction.

Commenting on her appointment, Kobus said she intends to build on the bank’s existing client relationships while expanding access to the broader capabilities of the group.

“We have a strong team and a proud track record of building trusted relationships with our clients and I look forward to building on that foundation,” she notes.

The appointment forms part of RMB’s leadership strategy as the corporate and investment bank seeks to strengthen its position in corporate banking across its operating markets.
