Former NBA players Malik Beasley and Edward Davis as well as sports agent Paolo Zamorano and three others were charged by federal prosecutors in an illegal sports-betting scheme.<\/p>\n

Beasley agreed with his former teammate Davis to underperform or overperform in games, relative to betting statistics, the US said in an indictment unsealed Monday in Brooklyn, New York.<\/p>\n

The case is the latest to emerge from a long-running probe into the sports industry that has already led to charges against NBA player Terry Rozier and Major League Baseball pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz.<\/p>\n

Beasley\u2019s lawyer, Stephen Haney, said he has seen the indictment and expected Beasley to surrender to federal authorities by Wednesday.<\/p>\n
