Spanish carrier Air Europa is launching its first-ever scheduled service into sub-Saharan Africa, establishing a direct aviation corridor between Madrid and Johannesburg.<\/p>\n
In partnership with South African Tourism and local aviation stakeholders, the new route will officially debut on 24 June 2026. The expansion aims to capture rising travel demand from the Spanish market, where forward booking data and visitor arrivals have shown a sustained recovery trend.<\/p>\n
Operating three times weekly, the route will deploy a Boeing 787 Dreamliner to optimise operational efficiency and enhance connectivity between Southern Africa, Europe, and Latin America via Air Europa\u2019s primary hub in Madrid.<\/p>\n
The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas Airport at 11:45pm on 24 June 2026, and is set to touch down at O.R. Tambo International Airport at 09:50am on 25 June 2026.<\/p>\n
