{"id":8420,"date":"2026-06-21T16:58:34","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T16:58:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fintechpulse8.com\/?p=8420"},"modified":"2026-06-21T16:58:34","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T16:58:34","slug":"beloved-spirits-distillery-and-winery-closes-no-bankruptcy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fintechpulse8.com\/?p=8420","title":{"rendered":"Beloved spirits distillery and winery closes, no bankruptcy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>A popular Ohio distillery and winery has unexpectedly closed after about five years in business, leaving customers shocked and disappointed and raising questions about its future.<\/p>\n<p>The closing comes as the craft distillery industry faced economic challenges in 2025 that has spilled over into 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The number of active craft distillers, which includes moonshine and specialty wine producers, declined by 25.6% from 3,069 to 2,282 in the year ending August 2025, according to the American Craft Spirits Association&#8217;s Craft Spirits Data Project 2025. The association has not yet released its 2026 report.<\/p>\n<p>The decline in distillery numbers follows a decrease in production and sales results in 2024 as the industry produced 12.7 million cases of spirits in 2024, down 6.1% from 13.5 million in 2023 with sales falling in the same period by 3.3% to $7.58 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The decline in business has led to distillery closings across the nation in 2026, such as Ohio-based Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s, which could lead to another overall decline in the number of distilleries for the year.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p>                        <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thestreet.com\/.image\/NDA6MDAwMDAwMDAzMDg2MDcz\/photo-3086073.jpg?profile=rss\" height=\"675\" width=\"1012\"><figcaption>Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s distillery and winery in Yellow Springs, Ohio, has closed its business with no announced plans for the future.<\/p>\n<p>Ninepence &amp;sol; Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s distillery shuts down<\/h2>\n<p>Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s distillery and winery closed its spirits and wine production company and tasting room after opening its facilities five years ago.<\/p>\n<p>The Yellow Springs, Ohio, spirits and wine maker in a June 17 Facebook post indicated that it had shut down its business.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;TnR has had a blast over the last 6 years! But&#8230; Time to roll out and roll on! To our people, One Love. Thank you for your support over the years!  As for Yellow Springs, we&#8217;re no longer &#8220;A Good Fit,&#8221; the company wrote in the Facebook post. <\/p>\n<p>Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s Facebook page had 112 comments by the end of the day on June 20, with most comments expressing sadness from the news of the distillery&#8217;s closing.<\/p>\n<h2>Customers comment on distillery closing<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;Bummer!! Love Tuck-N-Reds!!! Yellow Springs loss. Good luck in the future,&#8221; wrote Matt Lester on the Facebook page. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No this is terrible!! I have such great memories here! Love you guys and wish you the best,&#8221; wrote Michelle Kennedy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Man! I&#8217;m very sad to hear this. I love Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s and always had a fantastic time there. I&#8217;m really gonna miss the shine and wine. Please tell me this isn&#8217;t the end or how I can get some more,&#8221; said Lamar Kennedy.<\/p>\n<p>The distillery has not said whether it will open in another location, liquidate its assets, or file for bankruptcy.<\/p>\n<p>A voicemail message on the website&#8217;s listed phone number did not mention Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s business. A business representative was not immediately available for comment. The distillery&#8217;s website was still operational at last check.<\/p>\n<h2>Distillery makes craft spirits<\/h2>\n<p>Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s opened in 2021 and began distilling Moonshine, including seven flavors such as Corn Likker, Green Apple, Blue Razzberry, Lemon Drop, Tie Dye Apple Pie, Peach Cobbler and Cinnamon Lightn&#8217;n.<\/p>\n<p>The company also distilled Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s White Dog Sweet Tater Vodka and Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s White Dog The Spirit of Agave spirit.<\/p>\n<p>The beverage company produced a variety of wines, including Strawberry Wine, Blueberry Wine, Rose Petal Wine, Pear Wine, Blackberry Wine, and Dandelion Wine.<\/p>\n<h2>Owners use 100-year-old recipes<\/h2>\n<p>Tuck-N-Red&#8217;s wines were produced with just fruits, floral, sugar, water, and yeast. The wines do not contain chemicals, tannins, or added sulfites. The wines have &#8220;a higher alcohol content and a little more sediment&#8221; than your typical wine, according to the company&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p>The distillery owners claim to use their families&#8217; 100-year-old moonshine recipes to distill their products.<\/p>\n<p>The distillery&#8217;s moonshine and wine are sold at 16 bars, restaurants, and retailers in 9 Ohio cities, according to its website, while supplies last.
