It is now the foundation of how we consume content.<\/p>\n<p>Amid this growing trend, cable and satellite TV providers lost roughly 976,000 customers in the first quarter of 2026, according to a recent MoffettNathanson report, which was shared with TheStreet. Specifically, DirecTV lost 222,000 during this time period.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>DirecTV customers will soon have to shell out more money<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Despite recent customer losses, a new report from Cord Cutter News revealed that DirecTV is rolling out a new set of price increases that will take effect next month.<\/p>\n<p>On June 25, DirecTV\u2019s genre packs will go up in price. The company\u2019s MyEntertainment package will increase from $34.99 per month to $42.99, while MyKids will increase from $19.99 to $20.99.<\/p>\n<p>MyNews, currently $39.99, will increase by $5. My Sports will climb from $64.99 to $74.99, and the new monthly price of MiEspanol will be $37.99, up from $34.99.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Related: DirecTV plans controversial change for customers amid struggles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DirecTV\u2019s premium packages, such as Entertainment, Premier, Ultimate, and Choice, are also increasing; however, the company hasn\u2019t shared the new pricing. Done. Goodbye.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWelp this will be getting cancelled. At almost $50 I may as well just make the jump in cost to YouTube TV and get better quality and all the channels. They really screwed up on this one &#8211; bad,\u201d wrote another customer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah\u2026.I am canceling the service tomorrow. There are barely any good shows on tv nowadays.
