Pipeline engineering firm Stats Group has expanded its North American operations with the opening of a manufacturing facility in Rosenberg, Texas.<\/p>\n
Its existing office in Houston, Texas, will support the new facility, which marks Aberdeen-based Stats\u2019 first dedicated manufacturing capability in the United States and represents the largest single capital project in the company\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
The expansion is a direct response to increasing demand from operators for shorter lead times, and products manufactured locally in the US.<\/p>\n
It represents an important step in Stats\u2019 growth strategy. Increasing manufacturing capabilities in the US and aligns with the company\u2019s long-standing approach of investing in infrastructure and workforce in local markets.<\/p>\n

Aircraft parts manufacturer acquired<\/strong><\/p>\n Scottish aircraft parts manufacturer Aeropair has been acquired by Filetec which said that buying parts of the\u00a0business\u00a0would complement operations at its Amersham facility.<\/p>\n Glasgow-based Aeropair employed 16 staff when it collapsed into\u00a0administration. Most of its assets have been sold in the deal.<\/p>\n The company had previously operated from a smaller facility in\u00a0Renfrew\u00a0until November 2023, when due to the demand in the market, it moved to the larger facility in Glasgow.<\/p>\n AI funding deal for Neuvior<\/strong><\/p>\n Scottish Enterprise is backing a feasibility by Neuvior Pharmaceuticals, based in Glasgow, into the use of AI in the deployment of medicines.<\/p>\n The company, which was set up last year, has been awarded \u00a399,000 in Smart: Scotland funding to support a nine-month feasibility study.<\/p>\n The longer term aim is to help the NHS make faster, better-evidenced decisions on generic medicines while keeping clinical, regulatory, financial and governance judgement within human teams.<\/p>\n Varun Cruz, founder of Neuvior, said: \u201cThis award supports Neuvior\u2019s mission to build medicines intelligence infrastructure for the NHS and healthcare systems globally. Across healthcare, the challenge remains turning medicine opportunities into measurable value.\u201d<\/p>\n Balmoral Comtec sold<\/strong><\/p>\n An offshore energy specialist founded in Aberdeen in 1980 and employing 400 staff has been sold to a German multinational.<\/p>\n Balmoral Group has agreed a sale of\u00a0Balmoral Comtec\u00a0to Freudenberg Flow Technologies \u2013 a privately held business operating in more than 60 countries and employing some 52,000 people. Financial terms have not been disclosed.<\/p>\n Balmoral Comtec has workers across Aberdeen, Glasgow and Houston in the US. It designs, manufactures and tests polymer-based products for offshore energy markets, including\u00a0oil and gas\u00a0and renewables.<\/p>\n \t <\/div>\n
