{"id":2535,"date":"2026-05-11T03:18:20","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T03:18:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fintechpulse8.com\/?p=2535"},"modified":"2026-05-11T03:18:20","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T03:18:20","slug":"iran-offers-compromise-to-dismantling-its-nuclear-facilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fintechpulse8.com\/?p=2535","title":{"rendered":"Iran offers compromise to dismantling its nuclear facilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"textFreeArticle\">\n<p>Iran has offered to transfer some of its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to a third country in response to the latest US proposal to end 10 weeks of war, but rejected the idea of dismantling its nuclear facilities, the Wall Street Journal reported.<\/p>\n<p>As a series of incidents continues to threaten a shaky ceasefire, Tehran hasn\u2019t yet given any public indication it would accept Donald Trump\u2019s plan.<\/p>\n<p>The US president proposed that Iran permit passage through the Strait of Hormuz and Washington end its blockade on Iranian ports in the next month.<\/p>\n<p>Read:<\/p>\n<div class=\"ApplePlainTextBody\" dir=\"auto\">US has spent $25bn on Iran war so far \u2013 Pentagon<\/div>\n<div class=\"ApplePlainTextBody\" dir=\"auto\">US and Iran wrangle over talks<\/div>\n<p>Under the new proposal, Iran would dilute some of its highly enriched uranium and have the rest sent to a third country, the paper said, citing people familiar with the response, but it also called for guarantees the transferred uranium would be returned if talks fail and ruled out dismantling its facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s response ran to several pages, as negotiators proposed an end to the fighting and a gradual reopening of Hormuz, according to the Journal, which noted that the two sides remain far apart on the question of Tehran\u2019s nuclear programme.<\/p>\n<p>The conflict has killed thousands of people across the Middle East and sent energy prices soaring.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>If the two sides reach a deal, they would still need to negotiate later over the details of how to address Iran\u2019s nuclear programme, which remains a critical sticking point.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Trump has warned that the US might \u201cgo a different route if everything doesn\u2019t get signed up, buttoned up\u201d, suggesting an expanded version of Project Freedom, the brief US effort to break Iran\u2019s maritime stranglehold and escort ships through Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>Roughly a fifth of the world\u2019s oil and liquefied natural gas flowed through the waterway before the conflict began.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Trump said Iran has been \u201cplaying games\u201d with the US and other countries.<\/p>\n<div class=\"visible-sm-block visible-xs-block m1010\">\n<div class=\"ad-container-wrapper\">\n<p>ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>CONTINUE READING BELOW<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cFor 47 years the Iranians have been \u2018tapping\u2019 us along, keeping us waiting, killing our people with their roadside bombs, destroying protests, and recently wiping out 42 000 innocent, unarmed protestors, and laughing at our now GREAT AGAIN Country,\u201d he wrote in a social media post. \u201cThey will be laughing no longer!\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also warned that the war is \u201cnot over\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In an interview airing Sunday on CBS\u2019s\u00a060 Minutes, he said there is more work needed to dismantle Iran\u2019s nuclear capability and to remove its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the ceasefire in place since 8 April, a drone strike on Sunday briefly set a cargo vessel ablaze off Qatar in the Persian Gulf, marking the latest shipping attack in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Read: Trump pauses plan to guide ships through Strait of Hormuz while seeking Iran deal<\/p>\n<p>The United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, both of which have come under attack from Iran in the past two months, said on Sunday they had intercepted hostile drones.<\/p>\n<p>Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi also warned the UK and France in a post on X that the presence of warships in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with a \u201cdecisive and immediate response from the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">USS John Finn (DDG 113) sails behind USS Milius (DDG 69), USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE-7), and USS George H.W.
