El Ni\u00f1o strengthens wind shear in the Caribbean, disrupting developing tropical storms and hurricanes during the six-month season that began June 1.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, it typically brings cooler, wetter winters to the southern US while increasing the risk of drought and wildfires in Australia.<\/p>\n<div class=\"visible-sm-block visible-xs-block m1010\">\n<div class=\"ad-container-wrapper\">\n<p>ADVERTISEMENT:<\/p>\n<p>CONTINUE READING BELOW<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>AccuWeather reduced its forecast for named storms across the Atlantic to 8 to 14 on Tuesday, down from 11 to 16 the commercial forecaster predicted in March, according to a statement.
